The Brothers Grimm.

It was nice to see Heath Ledger after so long... i enjoyed the overall idea, but its a flawed movie. The cgi is awful, maybe because its dated.

I Am Not A Serial Killer.

Really weird one. Im not sure i liked it. I loved Max Record's performance, and the vibe and look of the film..i mean, its super 16 mm and it looks beautiful. But the movie is so weird, specially at the end.

Once > La La Land
Nah. Though I liked Once too.

I'm kiddin. It owes a lot though. Hope it does well in awards
They're completely different movies doing completely different things. I love both of them. But I'm not ready to "determine a winner." Both are lovely and effective and achieve their respective goals with grace, beauty, and thoughtfulness.

What is it you fundamentally hate so much about these films, Verm?

I'd never heard of it until you just now posted it. Looked it up on IMDB and I'd be interested in checking it out. Is it a musical?

Not every line is sung in most musicals, Lenny. The shows where every word is sung is typically referred to as an opera.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

i admittedly haven't seen a ton of musical films...wasn't every line sang in the les miserables film?

I hate that two obscenely wealthy and attractive movie stars, neither of whom know how to dance or sing, are being paid millions to play wannabe movie stars who know how to dance and sing.
Are you sure you know anything about this movie, trag?

I actually like when actors in musicals are not flawless singers and/or dancers. Musicals can often be a bit too cheesy. This was not. There was much more of a movie there than I was expecting.

Ah.

While I'm sure you'll find the preconceived ideas rampant in La La Land, Once would probably surprise you. It's hard to argue that it has any of those qualities.
