So great
this game's graphics were INSANELY good for its time, still looks good now

It's why I love it despite the platforming gameplay being pretty standard stuff. It's very immersive and cool, great music and visuals. I still play it every once in a while when I wanna blow off some steam and it holds up.

But yeah that underwater theme is something else IMO. And I take Ello's point about it being designed for videogames, but I gotta believe there's some ambient or synthwave stuff that captures a similar vibe

I haven't listened to the 17 videos Trag posted

Yes! I've played all of the sequels on Switch (or whatever system they were originally on) with my kids. They're all really fun.

I had it on Super Nintendo too -- loved it. There were a few sequels on SNES, and there have been a few on later system. They're all pretty much the same thing, and are all great. (I'm pretty strictly a nostalgia gamer, so someone who critiques games more seriously may feel different.)

Pretty common doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. When they did it in Britain Russian oligarchs bought up vast amounts of property in London and huge country estates and newspapers. Then implicated themselves into the Tory establishment and ruling elite and now British media and same establishment almost entirely under their direction.

Bloc Party are touring Silent Alarm (2005) with Metric playing Fantasies (2009) in support. I'm sure it would be a fun show, but I feel like it's Bloc Party admitting that they never released anything worth a damn after their debut. The same cannot be said for Metric, who continue to rip.

I don't know. It has a weird, defeatist aura to it.

The sad reality is that album anniversary tours are huge audience draws these days, much more so than regular tours

Even though you fully ignored my original Dream Academy suggestion, I'll give it another go.

The Low Anthem "Coral Crescent"

into "Dotwav" (which is on the money I reckon)
