We don’t know he was a republican, only that he was registered as one when the attempted assassination took place. its been reported here that the tshirt he's wearing is from some youtube entity that is very much far right/MAGA branch of things. How recent that photo is is probably a better gauge than any party membership.

Also, it wasn't him donated that $15 to the democrats or project blue or whatever it was called, it was some elderly chap with the same name as him, in california, made that donation.

Don't know if any of you have heard that to confirm.

I wouldn’t overthink this too much.

Lots of people want Trump dead for various reasons. This guy went for it.

looking at the TMZ pic it does look like thats exactly the shirt he was wearing on the day of..its the same greeny grey colour at least.

The difference between wanting Trump assassinated because you disagree with his politics and wanting Trump assassinated because you're trying to start a civil war is pretty significant. Best case is this was some off-his-meds psycho who was bullied by kids in MAGA hats. Worst case is... much worse.
