Super classy move by the Hawks. It was pretty hard to generate any hate for them during the series, they are a really good team that plays a hard, honest game.

Supposedly the Bruins met with Lecavalier today, if they dont resign Horton I think it can be done. It all depends on what kind of money Lecavalier wants.

I like the Schneider trade for everyone. I thought all along that Vancouver was better off trading Schneider: it basically boils down to Luongo + 9th overall vs. Schneider. That seems like a really obvious choice considering the goalies seem pretty similar and they're in win-now mode anyway.

New Jersey really needed a replacement for Brodeur, and now they have a good one.

i think this nj/van trade is hilarious. if they had any chance to dump luongo and his contract they should have pulled the trigger (and i'm including the last 2 years of the conversation existing). he's still a capable starting goalie (and maybe torts's system will benefit him), but he's old and paid for the next 8-9 years.

I think it's hilarious that New Jersey thought Schneider was worth a top ten pick in the draft...kid is a good goalie, but he honestly is more of a headcase than Luongo is when the playoffs start

Luongo's much older but this team has a very limited window (if one at all) to win anyway...my guess is they still try to move Edler before Friday, and possibly buy out Booth and Ballard...then take the room created and go for one more big run at it before they have to make the major decision next year about the Sedins

if they could somehow score Lecavalier (to play with Kesler) and Briere (low risk, high reward), I'd be thrilled

i'd say there's no goalie worth that high a pick, but there's nobody NJ could draft that could start day one. also, based on the track-record of the last few seasons, i'd say the goalie-in-playoff issues has more to do with the team than either RL or CS.

I don't necessarily disagree with your last point, but CS just seems very shaky all the time, unsure of himself, battling the puck type stuff

there's a lot of good goalies out on the FA market though, so I don't know if I buy that NJ will be better off having sacrificed a top ten pick for a goalie...their biggest issue is that Brodeur has fallen a couple of steps now but I don't know if they have the guts to tell him he's the backup

also, have they drafted a goalie in the last 3-5 years? I mean, if they haven't, that's just poor planning
