I would say only god forgives is like malick's to the wonder. each director reached a new level of technical proficiency and style however they are also each director's biggest failures in regards to narrative/substance.

I watched a two-part documentary on Woody Allen a couple of days ago (really fun!). Today I watched an HBO films doc on Roman Polanski. And now I'm watching The Ninth Gate, which I've seen before and really enjoy.

The new total recall. The first 2/3 was really entertaining, but it fell apart after that. I enjoyed it overall, though. Kate Beckinsale has the best ass in the world.
