I would say only god forgives is like malick's to the wonder. each director reached a new level of technical proficiency and style however they are also each director's biggest failures in regards to narrative/substance.

I disagree about Malick and lack of substance. He has more things to say in his movies than any other director. Maybe too many things.

I'm saying that malick's to the wonder lacked narrative/substance, which is uncharacteristic of his films.

I watched a two-part documentary on Woody Allen a couple of days ago (really fun!). Today I watched an HBO films doc on Roman Polanski. And now I'm watching The Ninth Gate, which I've seen before and really enjoy.

I think I chuckled. Pretty good movie overall. Denzel did a fine job.

The new total recall. The first 2/3 was really entertaining, but it fell apart after that. I enjoyed it overall, though. Kate Beckinsale has the best ass in the world.
