Is it the same version of Lift that was on the anniversary edition?

Swooping in just in time for 18 hours or whatever of radiohead then leaving RM again. I see you, trag.

Re: The everyone LOVES radiohead thread!
Sorry about that trag, I'm in a bit of smart-ass mood as I have 100 essays to mark by the end of the weektragabigzanda wrote:Jfc
I didn’t want to google it because I use “cue files” all the time in my podcast production. In that instance, a cue file is a clip of an interview or field audio (what chud would call “nat”) that follows a setup, like this:
Host: “we were on site yesterday at the state fair”
[roll cue file]
Thus I didn’t want to google something for which I had a prior, different understanding. I was specifically interested in your experience.
I quit RM again, see you bozos in 2028.

You can use this free program https://cue-splitter.medieval.it/ to open the .cue files and split the discs apart into separate trackshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_sheet_(computing)
"A cue sheet, or cue file, is a metadata file which describes how the tracks of a CD or DVD are laid out. Cue sheets are stored as plain text files and commonly have a .cue filename extension."

I count at most 11 live versions of I Promise, 7 of both Climbing Up The Walls & Paranoid Android, etc...
Most of them sound great. It's gonna be a bit of a bitch to pick favorites. Maybe you guys can help.

Yes! The second one on Disc 16 is so damn lush. So very Radiohead of them to release a rougher version on OKNOTOK instead of this fan-pleasing onetragabigzanda wrote:To anyone diving through, make sure you note both full versions of Lift. The one on disc 16 is better sounding, sounds like an unmastered complete mix.

So this collection is basically Pistachio Medley but with Roland Space-Echo, yeah?

I'm not wild about that mix. The rhythm section is buried and the string-sytnths and vocals way too loud. The first one, although lower in level, has a far better balance. With that in mind, have another listen and let me know what you think.ridleybradout wrote:Yes! The second one on Disc 16 is so damn lush. You're probably right - I'm listening at work on Apple earbuds and was probably sucked in by the higher levels.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:I'm not wild about that mix.
