I hope at least one person who has never read our exchanges on Yeezus and Miley Cyrus reads this post.
:haha:

This is absolutely true. It goes downhill pretty hard and fast after that though.

I saw her in 2010. It was a lot of fun.
Mrs. Kaius played the hell out of The Fame, and it was ok; The hits were great, but nothing else really grabbed me. I actually made a trip to the store to get her The Fame Monster when it was still freshly released because i knew she would want it. I think a few days later we had to take a decently long road trip, so she blasted me with it and I was really digging it. That album actually made me a big fan of hers, despite my aversion to anything pop culture at the time. It simultaneously hit my aural sweet spot and broke down walls I had built upon preconceived notions of what/who pop culture/music was supposed to or had to be.

Her next record didn't really do anything for me, either.

I've never heard that song, but is it about Kim's butt or front-butt?

Barbecue sauce I'd understand... but sweet and sour?

Yeah, The Fame was spotty, but with flashes of promise. The singles were great, but it definitely ran too long and got repetitive towards the end of it. The Fame Monster was like a fit, slimmed down, wicked version of The Fame. Easily one of the best pop records ever.

She became a total parody of herself on Born This Way and has never really managed to get that magic (or that attention) back. But man, for a hot minute there I was a HUGE fan.

Wow, the Miley record is even more shit than I imagined. I'm sad the Flaming Lips are involved in the making of this. This is not just bad, this is almost torture.

So, just skip those and listen to Currents. It's a psychedelic pop rock sound with some heavy hip hop/disco influence.
Thanks...I think? :| I'll check it out.
If it makes you feel better and more excited about the album, it didn't really grab me.
