Th proximity is definitely a thing.

It's a juggernaut once it starts. Star Wars everywhere you look. Down as far as apples in the super market coming in Star Wars bags.

We'd just be coming out of the last Jedi onslaught when they'd have to start it right back up.

I still think Han will be marketed as a fun summer blockbuster but the marketing will be just as relentless especially given how much they have to convince people it's not a ruin born of a chaotic production. Same stories plagued Rogue one all the way to release.

How much of the general public will be aware of all the behind the scenes drama? I would guess a small percentage.

Based on how widespread and aware the general public were about it on rogue one I'd say a lot and none of that made big headlines like those guys being fired did. People still talk about wishing they could see the original version of rogue one, But that's a point. Maybe it won't matter. Won't know til we see it. Rogue one does feel like a film made in the editing room. Maybe Han won't. As with Roguexone, Nobody will care if it's awesome.

A lot of the general public didn't even know when Rogue One took place in the timeline, let alone what was in reshoots.

People's attention spans are short. This director change happened almost a year before the film's release. I think most will forget and just want to see a cool movie with Han and Chewie.

It's easy to think everyone is as obsessed with a property as you, but it's just not the case when it is so immensely popular. I'm the same way with Game of Thrones.

Alright, you need to provide at least five examples of films that you also feel like were made in the editing room because this makes zero sense.

dime just throws it out there and forgets about it.

Rogue One was the most connected I've felt to characters, and the most I've enjoyed the cinematography in a Star Wars film since Empire. Editing room. Pfft, dime is crazy.

I don't really know what 'made in a editing room' means.

Isn't every movie made in the editing room?

Rogue one's issues (at least mine) are with the fundamental narrative, and I don't think the editing impacts that in a negative way. If anything, it's probably trying to compensate for it.

Funny how people forget what actually happened.
A second director was hired to reshoot 40% of the film.

His footage and the previous footage were what we we ended up with. Which was a disjointed slog of a film for the first two acts then a big spectacular final act.
So yeah. Made in the editing room. It's not awful it just shows.

you sure that 40% is accurate, dime? Could you source that, please? I'm interested.

What's wrong with 40% of reshoots if the film is awesome in the end?
