If anyone can point me in the right direction (new album)... I'm really not good at this stuff.

Same. Ready for some alt-country Wilco!

i love this! especially the last batch of tracks. admittedly reminds me maybe more of sukirae than most wilco albums which i guess might be annoying, but damn these songs are great

This is Warm/Warmer/Even Warmer (Love is King)/Warmest Pt. 4, eh?
I enjoy it as much as any of those, which is quite a bit but not a single song is memorable at all.

im pretty sure i like this more than the warms, sukirae is closer but i think i'll end up giving the edge to this one. there's still some wilco band dynamics at least

I like sukiarae better. Less bloat without pat and Jorgensen clogging things up

I haven't even come close to digesting this album yet. Three concept flash reaction/review of what this album is: domestic. death. texture.
Listened to as much as I could upon release last night while closing down the bar. This album's small pockets of magic sound really good in an empty office at 3am, by the way. There's just so much to latch onto with these songs, but you have to listen closely.
The 4-song stretch between Tonight's the Day thru Bird without a Tail/Base of My Skull* is the most immediate favorite for me, but again, it's going to take a while to really absorb this one.
At the risk of turning people off, I'll say that the Base of My Skull segment of that song feels like the band locking into a comfortable Grateful Dead vibe. I bet it's great live.

Not crazy about this on first listen. But it probably has its place and time. I’ll give it more spins at different times to figure out where and when those are, and there were certainly stand outs.
