Sorta bummed ed didn't just ramble and thank Bruce and the who and Neil and just talked about his influences
His speech was understandably nervous and weird but I doubt he's happy with it

I do think it's pretty cool that MJF wrote about "Given to Fly" in his book. It's not like that's one of their biggest songs.

I think in his book he said he listened to Given to Fly on repeat to calm himself before going into major surgery. Something like that.
I thought that was a nice moment last night.

I always found it hilarious that in the ultimate of ironies, Ed married a model. That probably makes Dave A. throw drums off the side of a mountain.
ETA: Oh wait, he didn't play drums on that song anyway. Stone thanked Jimmy Shoaf.

It's also ironic that Dave A's radio-friendly, rock star sensibilities would have jived perfectly with current-day Pearl Jam.
