I'll tell you what I did start to notice a while back, that trend for TV's to make movies look like bad Soap Operas. If that's progress, you can keep it.

It's a setting (called Motion Blur, I think?) that can be turned off. Most people just don't know to turn it off.

We're not there yet, but we're not far off.

Yep. This pretty much confirms you're just watching the wrong setups. Even if you don't care, the difference between a DVD and a properly calibrated 4K display is absolutely MASSIVE.
