Lots of people like me have walked away, leaving this toilet bowl that always had so much potential. It's why I revisit every so often, to see if there is some life still left in here. It's probably better to just leave the same 20 people to circle jerk and prejudge their way into hating the next album after they've had 4 months to kick it around.

Just engage and post about the music? I've tried that, but it gets followed up w/ 5 pages of snark that people who think they own this place believe is really charming (again, I was around these parts 20 years ago, if it's meant to be humorous and fails on any kind of comedic level). It's toxic, and I wish this place could help me enjoy the musical journey but that's probably wishful thinking. I'm pretty much right where Stip is, and I doubt I'll be able to experience Gigaton in any meaningful way here.
Guy who comes onto a messageboard to repeatedly moan about how horrible it is: "man, this place is toxic."
Says the guy who repeatedly comes onto a Pearl Jam message board to repeatedly moan about Pearl Jam. L-O-L! No irony there at all.....
You’re barking up the wrong tree here.

Listen tuolumne I have a lot of empathy for you because I basically was you once. This place got annoying as shit post LB. I ended up leaving for a year or something cuz it turned into let’s all top each other with how much we can come over to PJ chat and shit on it. They felt so dangerous and proud of themselves that they dared to tell daddy they didn’t like him anymore.

But lately I’ve seen much more willingness to engage in an actual discussion of the music and it’s been a lot of fun. It obviously helps that DotC fucking rules hard but it’s been a resurgence that I’m happy to follow until the album comes out and it possibly gets annoying again. Or not! We’ll see I would suggest you lay down your arms and surrender to me. Let’s talk!

Toulumne don’t take it so hard; there are a lot of people willing to discuss pj with a different mindset here too.

Wait a minute, during an interview ed possibly implied he has prayed for inspiration? I admit for some reason, probably because it seems he's been back and forth for so msny years on the subject of belief in a god, I'm curious about Ed's personal beliefs and would like more insight into it.
Religion doesn’t have a monopoly on prayer.

Dime, I think it's going to be better than Rise of Skywalker.

Not sure they’re comparable

But if it truly is as bonkers and packed like the film well I’m here for it.

Some of the fan entitlement over the last 15 years, as if the band is required a certain level of customer service in terms of creative approach, is nauseating to me. I want them to make something that represents where they are spiritually at as accurately as possible. Whatever that is. If they can accomplish that to a successful degree, then it's good art to follow. The whole idea of people wanting specific tempos, styles, lyrics, and technical approaches, is a fanbase that has lost it's way more than the band themselves. They are not a fuckin jukebox.
I’m not sure why you have such a problem with fans - who love the band - discuss things they love most about the band and would like to see from them. This is the internet and a message board devoted to the band for discussions about the band. If we took your approach of “whatever they give is fine” then this board would cease to exist. Also I don’t think you really understand much of how this board interacts.

You are dragging way too much personal drama into this. Do you know how many of us love damn near everything pearl jam has done? You take comments from a minority of posters here and paint the rest of us with it.

But you continually come here and shit on EVERYONE who posts here yet continually comes back to point it out - and now I wonder if it’s you that craves the so called toxicity

You know I’m strat right ? Pj apologist for 28 fucking years.

It’s like you don’t even read the board. Spenno? Good lord. So what he doesn’t like the last two albums. He’s a huge fan and talks glowingly about the things he loves. . This is what you do. You’re the toxic one dude. If you hate it so much here then quit fucking coming back.
