That's what I had originally, but edited it because I thought I had it wrong. This is probably one of those blurry lyric issues like
violins/violence in Daughter. Maybe it's purposely that way, so the listener can decide for themselves.
Or Ed paints himself into a metaphorical corner and can't be bothered to get out again.
