The bigger problem for the Sixers has been that Boston successfully defended Simmons' non-jump shot having self. For all the genius talk, Stevens is doing what Miami tried to do, but failed because Whiteside gets out of position and loafs. They sag off Simmons and then have a center waiting for him at the FT line and make him pass. When Miami sagged off him he was getting dunks, but not against the Celtics.

This, yet, every game has been pretty close. The Sixers are learning a lot in this series and these teams will likely have many more years of May playoff matchups.

Oh no doubt. I'm very, very high on the future of the Sixers. By the same token, I think the experience Tatum and Brown are getting right now it's very possible that we look back at the Hayward and Kyrie injuries as blessings in disguise for the Celtics in the long run.

Going forward the Celtics have the higher floor but the Sixers have the higher ceiling.

They should trade Kyrie and Hayward

I don't think they can. I'm not sure they want the reputation for trading players whenever they get hurt. Especially since they historically don't get free agents and they get Hayward to sign and he's Brad's guy. I don't think they really need him anymore and he costs a ton but I think they are stuck with him. Though I'd much rather have him playing Marcus Morris's minutes. Brad's going to have to convince him to be a sixth man. 30 mil a year for a 6th man. Ouch. Maybe they'll try Tatum at the 4 next year. Scary Terry is great for the first few rounds but if they have any hope of beating LeBron or the Warriors someday they need Kyrie level talent.

No way Hayward comes off the bench. People forget how good he is. They'll likely have two main starting lineups next year:

Option 1:
Kyrie
Brown
Hayward
Horford
Baynes

Option 2:
Kyrie
Hayward
Brown
Tatum
Horford

I look for option 2 to be the closing games lineup. Tatum will be the 6th man but still play 30 minutes a game or so.

I like Hayward as 6th man because of his offense and staggering him and Kyrie might make sense from a defensive perceptive. Politically you're right he'll probably start and since Tatum can play three positions he'll come off the bench.

Once Kyrie gets hurt then Hayward and Tatum can both start.

(God, what an embarrassment of riches the Celtics have.)

Both Kyrie and Hayward are going to lose their legs...the Celtics are screwed.

Conspiracy theories.... oh, I think there's a bit of truth in all of them in sports, especially the NBA.

From Jordan retiring following his gambling trouble to the Donaghy mess to extending playoff series series; I mean, I agree that this C's-Sixers should be closer and the C's deserved to lose that last game, but still I think second quarter fouls in that last game were like 12 vs. 1 in favor of Philly.
