I honestly don't know if there is any pitcher in the game I would trade Betts for. I know that sounds crazy, but, even if you could get Kershaw for Betts I would rather have Price and Betts.

I'd probably trade him for syndegaard.

I know everyone is taking DD's "something painful" comment to mean trading Betts, Bogaerts, even Pedroia, or something like that but it could also mean taking on a less than ideal long term contract for a SP.

Not sure how I feel about this Kimbrel trade...though I guess if they're dealing who they dealt, that (hopefully) means Betts and Bogaerts are safe

Upset that moved Margot; from everything I read/saw, it seemed like he had a pretty high ceiling. But you never know, he coulda bottomed out unto a utility infielder.

I know the Sox are loaded with young talent, but paying that kind of price for a closer is always risky.

But at least they got pitching help. If the end product was a hitter, I'd agree with you. But, I can never fault a team for going after all-start, prime of their career pitching w/o the bloated contract.

If they were emptying their farm system to make this move, I'd be against it, but even after this they still have one of the strongest farm systems in the game and they didn't give up anyone that was going to be in the major leagues in the next couple of years.

Also, with X and Betts there wasn't enough room for all of them when they did come up.

Somehow I misunderstood some Tweets about the trade and thought Kimbrel only had one year left on his contract--it's better to hear we've got him for at least three years.
