Re: 12th album rumors and speculation
the problem with a PJ acoustic album at this stage is we will just end up with an Ed folk / bob dylan strummer album
not the deep instrumental extension of Of The Girl that we all crave
because Ed and whoever their producer are will stifle any genuine musicianship between the band
for the sake of 'making a record'
Bring back Dave A

via google and reddit:
What does heavy mean in rock?
The slower and deeper in pitch a song is, usually the heavier it is. "Heavy" music sounds slow and crushing, literally like some heavy vehicle or colossus plodding along and flattening everything in its path

'I learned long ago to just turn off those voices in my head that express ideas and to just over-react positively to anything Ed offers up musically, for the sake of maintaining the working relations of the band. I guess you could call it a sham marriage, but I don't see it that way. I do what I have to in order to maintain our working relationship with the other band members. If that means abrogating all individuality and becoming subsumed by every impulsive idea that Ed and his producer du jour come up with, I am fine with that; so long as Ed approves, and it doesn't anger Ed, or lead him to consider parting ways with us again, which would be our fault if he felt that way, because we are wrong.'

Release a double album with the Earthlings. Half PJ, half Earthlings.
Good to go.
Watt produces both.

Re: 12th album rumors and speculation
You're all interpreting this quote wrong:
The album will require 12 records and 6 CDs. Each song will have a 10 minute skit of Eddie, Mike, and Andrew with lots of giggling. The songs will be a natural extension of Gigaton, but the weight of the product will make it heavy and therefore expensive to mail.

Holy shit, is this a real quote?!? Talk about Stockholm syndrome. I just want to hug stone and whisper in his ear “it’s not your fault” until he believes it and cries Good Will Hunting style.
This is depressing.

Yes!! This, but I could do with less heavy. More moody and atmospheric. more mid tempo rockers with great licks like Faithful. Fuck it, even better try some entirely new shit. I want them to have their “Kid A” moment.
This is going to sound weird, but I’d love a PJ version of something that’s heavily influenced by Hail to The Thief, All I’ve Ever Known from Madison Cunningham (such a great song), and Down on The Upside.

No more attempted punk bullshit with boring chord progression and word salad.
