I've addressed "the counter to that" in this thread already, and we're still asking "where are the answers?!" As if none exist and none were given, because they weren't answers you liked.
NOW you want to protect people's feelings because they came second in a comp? I've already written about a trans female weighlifter who came seventh, and then was knocked out of a final... both a "counter argument" and proof that the media -- and RM -- are scraping the barrel for stories to get upset about. And she is far from the only trans person out there without Superhuman Strength and not "dominating the headlines." Literally just Google some counter-arguments to this and you'll find them. Stop bringing up a single name over and over again and expecting her to stand for "another instance where a trans woman dominated" when it is *extremely* far from a systemic issue, it is not worth anything like a cultural furore, and a Lia Thomas "dominated" because she was good at her sport, NOT because she may or may not have had broad fucking shoulders (I know cis women with broader shoulders than me). People who lost to Lia Thomas were not harmed, they were butthurt, upset. But life isn't fair.
When professional athletes and transphobes get upset that we won something, you want to talk about feelings. But when we talk, offer up evidence (the same amount, and even more) and justify our case, we are "snowflakes" having a "woke" tantrum.
As long as sports associations, physical therapists / examiners, scientists / endocrinologists, competition officials are making the well-considered, careful decision of allowing trans women to compete in these competitions, I don't care about the feelings of sore losers who don't like it, any more than I would care if a white basketball player was mad because a Black one was taller. I don't care. You don't get to make these decisions. You get to sit back and watch the sports industry make decisions that bring *fair* and much-needed inclusion and integration to sport, and you get to grin and bear it. Everyone else will be fine.

"occasionally there is a minority who is very good at something and a majority cry about it and make all sorts of absurd reasons why it's unfair"
they can keep crying

nobody has ever seen men co-opt and dominate women's sport
no one
and no one is going to, because it hasn't happened, it isn't happening, and it won't happen

Ms Harmless wrote:"the decline of western civilisation" is quite a burden to carry on our shoulders for trans people who just want to exist in public without being harassed at best, murdered at worst
people who were told they were the instruments of societal decline:
Black and non-white people
Jews
Muslims
Gay people
Disabled people
Women and trans people
the list goes on
maybe the decline of a civilisation that demonises and eradicates the social "other" de jour across the centuries is to be welcomed
That is what makes gender ideology fit for the proxy war because many of the same people who fight so hard to allow the medical transitioning of children are the same ones who will turn around and say things like "defund the police", "abolish capitalism", "equity over equality", and "Amerikkka is a racist country and we must abolish racism". So all of the weight and conflict of those positions gets tied into trans-activism here. It all gets reduced to "What is a Woman?". I acknowledge how unfair that situation is to trans people in this country and the utilitarian reason why in a binary political system things end up this way. I'm not asking you to answer or explain any of that. That's not on you. Not at all. But, at least here, it's how things are right now.

Amazingly well put. Thank you for your continued work in a forum full of people who mostly are trying their best to
not understand you, even though you've been so open and informative. Just want you to know not all of us are closed minded here.

so if you're taking the burden off me -- and I appreciate you saying that you are -- allow me to put it on you to give me some solid evidence (not biased anecdotal hearsay and mythology) that ANY children are being allowed to transition medically, by which I mean have any permanently body-altering surgeries or hormones, NOT hormone blockers
minors, those under 18, are not allowed to transition medically; we can argue the ethics of this till the cows come home, and there are grey areas around the subject, but it is currently illegal
as for letting children transition socially -- choosing a name, how they dress, pronouns they would like and friends who will accept them -- that is about really listening to our children about their comfort levels, giving children autonomy to make their own decisions about their identity and life experience, while weathering the changes and fluctuations as they grow; children need to know that if they don't vibe with "boy" and want to be something else, they can and will be supported by their parents and their schools, and conversely, if a boy feels like seeing what "girl" is like for a month in whatever small ways he wants, but then he reaches the age of 16 and he's changed his mind, THAT is OK too, but -- and this is the point -- there was and is never any shame in exploring his gender and coming to know himself better; in both cases, a child is growing up healthier than if they're suppressed by fearful generations of projected "normal"
if young cis girls can understand what it's like to feel that "girl" suits their soul, then so can young trans girls

I truly, truly appreciate you saying this, and you're welcome; I'm not there yet with regards to how to balance my mental health and my enjoyment of this forum, but I can't help it, I just cannot leave!

a much loved buzz-phrase of the Right is "facts don't care about feelings"; but facts aren't just found in books and papers and websites, they're also gathered through decades of human personal trial and error and lived experience
I'm confident that I've offered up all of the above to the best of my ability and knowledge, putting in equal work to my detractors; the rest is up to you

I have nothing to say about the wider political context of trans activism, except that being trans does not require a Leftist leaning; Caitlyn Jenner, a thorn in my side as a trans activist, is proof of that

It seems that Virginia just wants to put that explicit act of abuse written into law. Not sure why it's "controversial" unless people don't understand that kids are suffering and this law would help them.
Rehabilitation and counseling for the parents/kids is also part of the legal process with regard to child abuse/child protective services. It's not just punishment. But calling abuse by its name is the first step.

parents who neglect their children's emotional needs -- and that is child abuse -- should be prosecuted

Mickey, I know you are aware a key tactic was to use children to report on their parents unapproved thoughts. When you create a situation where a teenager struggling with GD’s emotional state determines a child abuse investigation, the parents no long have an ability to parent.
