amazing album, amazing production, amazing performances....challenging too, specially at the time.
Wish they played those songs more live and i really hope to get Nais, Parting Ways and Rival sometime live. Maybe Of The Girl too.

Not my fav album I’m sorry to say. Not to say it doesn’t have amazing moments but as an album it doesn’t really flow.
It is a logical follow up to Yield it just wasn’t executed well imho.
it’s the first of Pearl Jams “what could of been” albums (avocado is the Second). It’s where the band started to double guess themselves and lost the original vision of what they were trying to achieve.
Binaural suffered more for me after Lost Dogs came out and I heard Fatal/Sad/In The Moonlight. How were they left off this album ??
If I could go back in time I’d give Ed double whatever Cornell was going to pay him as a bet about “Soon Forget” Being on the album.
How could you cut the above songs but leave “Soon Forget”. It would be like Bee Girl replacing Small town/leash on Vs.
Was this when The “it’s all about the music” mantra was replaced by Ed’s ego ?
It could of been cool As a double album.
Side A
Breakerfall
Gods Dice
Sad
Evacuation
Hitchhiker
In The moonlight
Insignificance
Grievance
Rival
Education
Side B
Fatal
Other side
Light Years
Thin Air
Nothing As It Seems
Sleight Of Hand
Of The Girl
Soon Forget
Parting Ways

This is definitely the one that should have been a double album. We could go back and forth about sequencing, but this was where they had the most outstanding material to play with despite Eddie’s infamous writers block.

Listened to Got Some's tracklist, swapped Other Side with Strangest Tribe.
It pretty much confirmed this is my favorite album and period of songwriting from the band. Just an incredible collection of songs, with everyone finding meaningful ways to contribute.

My theory was Otherside and Sad written in the same sessions as far as I’m aware.
Sad was Ed’s version of Jeffs “otherside” story.
I like the demo but the recorded version slays
