I've never been a big Sleater-Kinney guy, but yeah, that seems really pretty sad.

listening to the podcast....man, the moment with her talking about equality in the world and the band...so stupid.

It certainly must suck for Jane to feel the way she does. I like that she's clear-eyed about her perspective and I wish her all the best. But, as they say, no good/strong marriage has ever ended in divorce.

It was only a matter of time before she started making the podcast-to-air-the-dirty-laundry rounds, but yeah I hate hearing that. I have a hard time believing some of the direct quotes but anything's possible.
They were really good last night, and it helped that all the old songs played were among my favorites. Janet is absolutely missed up there though, but things change. The new drummer acquitted herself well on the songs from The Woods. It was obvious to me that most of the OG fans were gone & there is a new group not as connected to the old stuff. Still one of the best rock bands to ever do it, and they continue to do so which is great.
Off the top of my head the old songs played last night were:
Jumpers
What's Mine is Yours
All Hands on the Bad One
One More Hour
Start Together
Entertain
Oh
Fox
Get Up
Modern Girl
Youth Decay
Dig Me Out

If the members of PJ felt this way the band would have broken up years ago.

Why did she do all those promo shots?
weird.

Money involved is nowhere the same. SK isn't close to selling out a 1,000 person venue for tomorrow night,

So the Janet stuff was pretty much exactly as it seemed.

I don't think it's weird at all.
I'm sure it was a build up of frustrations over a long period of time, she probably didn't think leaving the band was how it was going to turn out until that became the only viable option.
It sounds as though the idea of touring behind those songs was really the final nail in the coffin - and fair enough.

She should go on a podcast tour with Steve Gorman.
Poor drummers

I just completely fail to understand how the three of them could be in the studio, working on such a turd of an album, and two of them really felt like the material was good enough to warrant a usurping of power and the hurting their friends's feelings. Utterly baffling.
It is really strange. Maybe they got caught up in the excitement of working with St. Vincent?

I forgot you know them so well. Not everyone thinks the new music sucks. I bet you would’ve enjoyed how well they played last night because it was objectively good even though I missed Janet.

I bet they still slay live! Stage looks a little crowded to me though
Truth. You’ll be happy to know that the Get Up > Youth Decay > Dig Me Out encore featured just the 3 of them on stage, as it should be. Perfect ending to the show for me.

I just added it after The Future is Here. It's coming up soon.
edit: not the best placement, probably should be sooner.
I finally got around to doing a mix with Animal, but since both TCWH and NCTL are so short, you can actually fit both albums on one disc + the 4 non album tracks... and well since it doesn't appear like Janets going to be coming back anytime soon.
I've only listened to it straight through once, happy enough with it for now I guess. Hey Darling, Gimmie Love, Love, Bad Dance... I could just skip all 4 of those songs
A New Wave
Bury Our Friends
No Cities To Love
Fangless
Animal
The Center Wont Hold
Hurry On Home
Can I Go On
Reach Out
Restless
The Future Is Here
Ruins
No Anthems
Here We Come
The Fog and the Filthy Air
Heavy When I Need It
Price Tag
Surface Envy
Hey Darling
Gimmie Love
Love
Bad Dance
The Dog / The Body
Broken
Fade
