The idea of saving a player for the playoffs is so flawed its ridiculous. Maybe they should keep LeBron on ice until the conference semis?

He doesn't really have a history of getting injured though. I'd risk it and play him to get home court advantage.

Why? He's a luxury. The Heat aren't counting on him even one little bit. But he's worth the 15th roster spot for the chance that he'll be healthy enough to give them 10 minutes a night in the ECF.

I've read nothing to suggest he could do that right now, but hopefully come February or March he's healthy enough to start getting a few minutes here and there and can stay healthy enough to be a big body between Hibbert and the basket for a few minutes each night against Indy.

The Suns and Blazers are the real surprises this year. The Blazers in particular have been so much fun to watch.

Speaking as a Blazers fan, I can't believe how fun this year has been so far. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop - see the long discussion on Greg? Oden over the last few pages. I don't want to get into how I feel about Greg? Oden - too many sad memories.

Question for Verb as a Bulls fans, and everybody else in general: Should Thibs take some blame for the Bulls constant rash of injuries because of the demanding style he imposes and big minutes his best contributors often play? I'm not trying to troll here, and I think Thibs is a very, very good head coach. I'm also not arguing that this is so, but it's a question that definitely comes into my head from time to time. Are the Bulls injuries mostly the result of bad luck, having injury prone guys, Thib's style, demand for high minutes...something else altogether? I don't watch enough Bulls basketball on night in night out basis to be able to answer these questions, so I'm curious what others think.

That is definitely a good part of the reason. That in combination with their style of never taking a night "off" and just bad luck.

You make a pretty good point and bulls fans who are paying attention know thibs will run players into the ground. Derrick rose shouldn't have even been on the court his first ACL injury. That game was over. He played Omer Asik when he had a broken leg ('Fred cleared him'), Deng has been a league leader in minutes under thibs. Sometimes going balls to the wall to win every single regular season game can catch up to you, its a long season.

Do you think Thibs will stay in Chicago for long? It seems like his relationship with Reinsdorf is rocky at best.

The 'Thibs running players into the ground' comments are a bit overstated. If you're good, you play 32-39 minutes a game. That's on any team. My only issue with Thibs is that in blowouts, by in large, he still plays players the same amount minutes.

my lord Joey Crawford needs to go.

Miami is going to have a very difficult time beating this pacers team in a seven game series....

I think its more a gar Forman thing. Thibs hates that guy. Gar fired his top assistant basically just to let everyone know who is running the show. Thibs probably wishes he didn't have that new contract, there is no way the org is going to pay him to leave...

baffles me that people continue to leave shooters open like that.
