the roots are (or were, i haven't seen them in 10+ years...) an incredible live act. watch this bonnaroo set that was the shit. if anything, at least watch the masters of war cover at 48:15 and just watch where they go with it, including captain kirk just completely shredding a solo.

Outside of Pearl Jam, The Roots are one of the bands I have seen the most. They were always thrilling to see because they could do just about anything phenomenally well. I remember the Save the Rhinos show from 2005 in Central Park as a particularly great one.
Plus, it always cracked me up that they called their tuba player Tuba Gooding Jr.
