Didn’t see them in the US on that one sadly.

Week of rehearsal in Dublin before the first show here and they were immense.

The two shows I saw in 2006 were the first Pearl Jam shows where I wasn't completely caught up in the moment. I remember thinking to myself "they're sloppy, and I can't really hear Mike's guitar".

I definitely prefer the 2006 tour performances over 2003.

I'd be thrilled if Gigaton is roughly on par with S/T, which is roughly on par with Riot Act for me.

S/T is a very solid album...only two bad songs for me are Big Wave and Gone. Parachutes and MITS are fantastic.

Life Wasted should have been a really good song but it misses the mark for some reason

I love, love, love Big Wave.

A wildly underrated song.

Hmmm, I haven't listened to Big Wave in over a decade, maybe I'll give it a spin

Edit: yeah, I tried and still don't like it. The music is pretty cool but the lyric is not my jam.

I’m just glad this board got its groove back...

Ah yeah, this is pretty much the beginning and end for me.

Who cares what Ed's yammering about?

I listened on Spotify but it doesn't say remastered so I'm not sure if that was the one. I can see why people like it, it has a nice flow, I just can't get into the lyrics at all.

Come Back is another song I really like in all of it's sappy glory.

And Severed Hand is kinda meh for me on the album but I love it live. I've also heard some great versions of Inside Job live although I don't love the song.

I bought the remaster on vinyl when it came out and spun it last night. It does sound a lot better than the original, but I feel like BOB didn’t have much to work with sonically to begin with.
It’s a satisfying record. Certain missteps for sure, which was new for my PJ experience at the time. Not sure Gigaton is gonna surpass it but it’d be great if it was in the ballpark. Everything we’ve been reading gives me a lot of hope.

I basically stopped listening to Pearl Jam the past four or five years other than going to a few shows. DotC and the new album brought me back so it's been fun revisiting stuff. Also, the kids and wife are asleep and I'm drinking.

Anyways, I said all that so I could say this. Gonna See My Friend is a great little tune. Poor Ed can't sing it live but I forgot what a good opener it is.

Very much the same here except I didn’t go to any shows. Even when they announced Gigaton I tried to listen to the catalogue and couldn’t get into it. DOTC has helped with that and it’s been fun to spin Binaural, S/T so far. Probably gonna go through the rest in the next week.
