So in the end, this is the most Pop sounding record they have ever done but they are still the same old PJ at heart.
i think it would be good for them to do some tv stuff, fallon or snl and play those there

Stern interview was great. Some details/stories I'd never heard before along with the ones we've heard 1000 times. :)

Ed's voice is sounding near studio recording quality it's crazy.

I don't have a beef with Wotman production but not going to lie I like the rawer/garage rock quality of something like this. These songs are all going to kill live.

Ed must really love Running... you could tell he really wanted to show off that one

He's counting down to retirement. Since COVID he's become sort of a recluse, and his show consists of teenage boy humor that everyone was over years ago, or interviews with celebrities that he excels at. I kind of wish his last five years or so were just a podcast of him doing interviews like this one.

I know it's been relentlessly talked about, but man, Vedder can ramble.

That response before "Scared of Fear" was ridiculously long-winded. :shake:

I think the guests have some say in the video releases as well. I'm sure we'll get this one, but I do recall a few in the past that were not made available. I'm assuming that had to do with the interviewee, not the Stern show.

Someone said it earlier in the thread, but that performance of Daughter today with it just ending and not going into any kind of tag was really refreshing for the song. Hope they do that more on tour.

The consistency of opinion on this is quite startling. RM is usually all over the map with polar opposite takes but this ain't one of them.
i love DM and it totally makes sense as a single, hell it was a hit for them. Running not so much.

Wreckage is a great third single, they should have released a video for it.
For what it's worth, at the London Dark Matter Experience thing last week, Running was not listed as an official single for Dark Matter on the discography display - just Dark Matter and Wreckage.

played the album several times through yesterday evening outside on my Bose bluetooth speaker whilst making and enjoying a fire with the family and dogs running around, and it made for a nice accompaniment. I recommend playing it outside on your Bose bluetooth speaker several times through whilst making and enjoying a fire with your family and dogs running around.

after the Stern interview, you have to kind of think:

How does this band NOT have 10 more years and a few good records left? Doesn't seem like they are anywhere close to feeling like closing up shop.

I'm sure a bit of that assessment is just wishful thinking on my part, but not all of it is, and that gives me hope!

100 percent. Same with Corduroy - I'm all set with that long breakdown section - hopefully they're done with that. Maybe they already are - I haven't seen them since 2018.

How about going back to the quieter/slow build/ramp up version on Vitalogy? I remember hearing it live for the first time on LO2L and thinking it sounded like a very different song. I dug it at the time and have gotten used to it as the "current" version but miss the album version.

It's not wishful thinking. These guys are bigger music fans than any of us. They clearly fucking love it and need it.

The only thing that will change is the touring I'm sure. But they've already figured out how to do it what works best for them and their own wellness.

They'll be around and putting out music till one of them passes

Including leaks and bootleg recordings, I think I've heard this album 25-30 times now. I swear it is still getting better.

Edit: Maybe more like 15-20. I am prone to exaggeration.

Even started it with the hi-hat count in. Still too fast, but we’re getting there…
