It actually has happened at least in a high school girls game. Strike out 23 of 24 batters faced, perfect game, loss... because of the extra inning rules. Pretty insane.

She threw a wild pitch that allowed the runner to get to third. Yeah, I disagree with calling that a perfect game.

It was still extra innings, with a runner on 2nd who was put there for extra innings rules.

What if its 2 sac flies to win the game in extra innings?

I thought I heard of another girl losing a no hitter / perfect game (forget which) in extra innings with a stolen base / catcher threw the ball into LF.

If someone loses a perfect game in the 10th because of the runner scoring with the extra inning rules, that game will just be remembered along with Galaragas and the one I mentioned before where the guy replaced Ruth after one batter. So yeah, it officially probably wont be listed as a perfect game, BUT it will get a separate mention.

extra innings are routinely the most boring in baseball

shitty pitchers missing the zone while everyone hacks away trying to end it with one swing

the new rules injects some excitement into it

I'll still miss hours of free baseball.
