Yeah, but was excessive extra innings a problem that needed to be corrected? This is a massive change to the game that was unnecessary.

Griffey lost about 2.5 seasons to injury.
Trails Bonds by 132 career homers.
I mean he would have had to be stellar the entire time to catch Bonds (or Aaron) but damn.

35 homers a year, for 20 years... leaves you at 700 and 4th all time.
