I couldn't get all the way through Avatar one time. 3 attempts.

I enjoyed the spectacle of seeing it in 3D in the theatres, but that's about it.Kaius wrote:Avatar was awesome. There. I fucking said it. Come at me.

And I thought Zoe was fantastic in it.

I hate Avatar but I still love James Cameron, and am looking forward to his future films, including the Avatar sequels.

Avatar was the movie equivalent of when bands whose heyday was 30 years ago go into a studio and slop off a rerecording of their classic track for a greatest hits package.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
Someone on collider last night made the point about Cameron's remark that he's coming from his own point of view in terms of visuals. He sees visuals first and last. Story be damned, as we saw with avatar. So he's right in the sense that force awakens while gorgeous looking, was nothing new or ground breaking visually , and that's me saying that, so it's really speaking more about Cameron's myopia about the visuals being the be all and end all, meaning how he included the prequels when he mentioned Georges 6 films. They were awful but they did look amazing when they weren't too digital looking.
So his comment has been misinterpreted a bit but it really points out his own personal flaw as a director.

I was sharing my cinematic thoughts of James cameron, albeit vaguely dismissive ones

Would it be better if I used a homophobic slur?

Interesting bit of gossip. Abrams fought hard to get to do the Star Trek reboot and made it in a Star Wars style, in order to get the job off Disney to make the new Star Wars movie.

Never noticed it before.
Abrams pulled the same trick with the enterprise and the falcon, pulling out of hyperspace/warp at exactly the precise moment.
One trick pony.

One last spot.
Nobody in the entire world has said the words JJ Abrams and lens flare in the same sentence for at least 7 months now

That is interesting. And differs greatly from the "official" stories we've heard from Abrams, KK, and Speilberg.dimejinky99 wrote:Interesting bit of gossip.
