Ian McKellan owns a pub in London. He lives next door and attends the pub quiz every Tuesday night if he’s home.

I’d love to go and meet him. Have been in the pub. It’s gorgeous. Proper historic ye olde London pube. Francis Bacon and Dickens etc used to drink there. Gandalfs staff is behind the bar and a huge bronze statue of Gandalf down the back seating area.

If you’re ever in London you should go.

Got a call from the dad of one of my kid’s classmates today, their youngest daughter is in the hospital with a virus they can’t seem to diagnose. The mom’s father passed away yesterday, so she’s on a plane back home. They’re just getting hit from all angles.

He asked if his daughter could sleep over and we get her to school tomorrow, so of course I said no problem. Finally got the two girls to bed two hours past bedtime because they just couldn’t calm down from the sleepover excitement.

Hoping for some good news tomorrow - or at least a firm diagnosis - from the tests they’ve done so far. We might be doing this wild bedtime routine all over again tomorrow night.

That’s a tough one. Hope it all works out for them.
