They should do a Moonlander and release a song a week.

They should have done an Eminem and just announced that it'd been released by tweet before anyone knew anything

Or they should just cover Moonlander.

in fact, with modern attention spans there should probably be about 4-6 more singles
and then we'll still have another ~half of the album to discover anew on rodlease day
Hopefully the rumor of mid February of another single is correct.

I hope we eventually get a deep dive into the creation of this thing.
How did they go from CDM as the lead single and "clear standout" (per Stone) to what must be a whole new album (producer switch) in a year and a half? Who hurt Mike?

It'll all make sense when they reveal the second "surprise" album later this year.

It's amazing what happens when you put in effort.

Jill Vedder talked about two albums a few months ago. So that second album could be out later this year.

Seems like theres been enough chatter/verification that they may have originally intended for a double album....

True, I found that hard to believe. Most likely those sessions delivered around 5-6 songs. CDM being one, and Retrogade another means that there are maybe 4-5 songs from those sessions in the vault. Enough to complete a single disc with vault tracks from the post Riot Act Years: CDM, Olé, Off The Earth, Let it Ride, Cold Concession is already half an album.
Or add all those tracks to the ones still not compiled (Angel, Sonic Reducer,...) and release 'Lost Dogs 2'.

How do we know Retrograde is from the CDM sessions?

Well, Stone did say that Ed picked out the final 12 songs from a “pile”, so there’s certainly more sitting around. With it already being their longest album, it does kind of add up.
