Game of Death. This really suffered from the death of Bruce Lee - as a result some really interesting/comical editing choices as a result. Oh and having two new actors playing Bruce's parts in places was really distracting as they looked nothing like him

That movie is a joke and a mess, but holy shit, the final fight scene is transcendent.

just curious, what exactly did you guys find visually stimulating? it was fine, just little jumped out at me

For me, I think the first thing is how spirals are used. There's a great coiled snake visual metaphor throughout. It's first seen in the very beginning of the film, in the way the car moves through the scene and the mounting sense of danger that winds with it. And then throughout the movie there are constant references to rattle snakes. Of course there's significant payoff for this at the climax of the film.

Beyond that I think the color palette is fantastic. There's a great sense of dust and heat in every image which ads so much to the tone and the overall atmosphere. The use of light is lovely. Good use of thirds. Yeah, I think it's excellent.

I agree with this. The color palette is pretty neat, and the visual description of those small towns is amazing. They nailed the tone of a very cool pulp noir book and somehow they put it into the visuals. Pretty great...the action scenes are good, the characters are good..man, the acting. Ben Foster owns the movie. Jeff Bridges too of course...and Pine? Man, he is a star.

I thought it looked fine. It felt like small town Texas.

The anti-bank stuff was so heavy handed. Kinda corny. It tried too hard with the action sometimes. The brother was kind of annoying and rang false.

Pine and Bridges are great of course.

I only just saw his post. He's strong, he can get past me not liking this movie. I, on the other hand, just suffered through the longest sustained bout of suicidal ideation I've ever suffered through. Sitting through La La Land was physically painful at times.
