My hunch is something with Selmy.
I'm thinking Stannis.

I have long suspected that Barristan was going to die during the Second Battle of Meereen, and his death on the show added a degree of certainty to it. I really hope I'm wrong, though.
Me too. I really, really want to see his triumphant return to Westeros.

Could it be Stoneheart he is referring to?

Well, who's dead on the show, but not in the books? Off the top of my head:

Barristan Selmy
Stannis
Grenn
Pip
Meryn Trant
Myrcella
Xaro Xhoan Daxos
Mance Rayder
Catelyn Stark

Who am I forgetting?

People on the westeros.org boards don't seem to think so. There are rumors her story is being introduced to the show this season, and there's nothing that happened on the show with Cat the stops the showrunners from catching up and matching her story for the most part to the book.

This twist is supposed to be something that's impossible to happen on the show.

Sure. I'm not sure exactly what words GRRM used when describing this twist, but if it's more in the vein of "I can do this in the book but it's impossible in the show because of decisions they made" then yeah it could be a Jeyne Westerling twist. But if the quote was more along the lines of "I can do this in the book but it's impossible in the show because this character died there" then I don't think Jeyne fits because those are really two different characters.

They are and they aren't. Their background stories are vastly different, but they both fill the role of Robb's (possibly) pregnant wife. Although I'm pretty sure that Jeyne's mother forced her to drink moon tea after Robb's death, so there probably isn't anything there. Martins exact words on the subject were: “I have decided to do it. Will you know it? I don’t know. It is fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of which is dead on the show, and not dead in the books. So the show can’t do it, unfortunately, because they have killed someone I have not killed.” I suppose that likely excludes Talisa/Jeyne, but not necessarily.

With the Westerlings involvement with the Lannister and that not being the case with Talisa I see them as different characters filling similar roles.

Also, Jeyne was getting Moon Tea even before Robb's death.

Oh, shit, that's right. Stoneheart has a man inside Riverrun. I'm increasingly convinced that the brotherhood is going to be incredibly important in TWOW.

Tom also knows that the crown requires all of the red wedding prisoners be transferred from the twins to kings landing. That includes the Greatjon.

So basically GRRM is throwing out vague statements in hopes that one of you accidentally finishes his book for him.
