Be honest fellow RMers...this shiz is gold....Its edgy, rocking, eds vocal delivery is nice and the guitar work and drum work are great IMO

I like it a lot after 2 listens, its nothing overly different, and could be considered an extension of backspacer, but i enjoyed it

You guys are certainly right. I guess my post came across a little more, I dunno, "doom and gloom" than I meant it to. I am really excited for the album, tbh!

I think this song is pretty good, but just not that interesting. I just hope that doesn't preclude anything like "Of The Earth" from being on the record.
I agree with this, a lot. Space. Yes. Thank you.

ed seems to go right up to the edge of "screechy" and then the guardrail keeps him in. well done.
the guardrail in this case is a nude boom.

I agree with this, a lot. Space. Yes. I don't want every song to sound the same, but I do want a sense of space in just about every damn one. I'm certainly not getting enough of it these years.

Sounds like Eddie joined Bad Religion. Different kind of punk for pj. I love it!

Why does everything have to be fast and punky? Is it a mid-life crisis "we're not old" thing? I agree, give me something more patient, like NAIS or Of the Earth...something that sounds like band actually got in the studio and worked together.
No decision on it yet. I thought Got Some was sloppy when I heard it on Conan and I really like it now. Hearing it live mighty change things.

So basically, MYM sounds like Pearl Jam, which is precisely what I didn't want.

please tell me you guys weren't expecting this song to sound like that.

Anyone that starts off any review of anything with "I was hoping..." should be immediately disregarded. It's the laziest form of criticism. Judge it on the merits and the artist's intentions, not what you wanted it to be.

I'm with you.
I'm somewhere between "it's okay" and "at least I don't hate it" on this one. I guess I should vote it's okay but I picked the other option because it's quite an achievement after S/T and The Fixer.

Strange thing to say... because we all have different interpretations of what PJ should sound like.
