my sister tuned into some of the RNC today and said trump seemed way calmer than usual.

yeah what if this has neutered him and he loses now.

If I was a wealthy, generally lazy, older dude who only really wanted to golf all day and then grab pussy all night, I'd have to strongly consider whether what I was doing as a politician was actually really worth my while in the wake of a bullet literally buzzing past my ear.

It would certainly make me re-evaluate my choices at the least.

(In Trump's case though I expect any sort of internal thought process would last only until the old narcissist God-complex vibes came back to their usual levels. And judging by how the delegates are announcing their various state votes for Trump, I suspect that moment would have already come along)

There's no way he stays in, right? Surely the Democrat party has some ability to remove him. I refuse to believe it's that incapable.

He shouldn't be president now, much less a year from now.

He did mention in the same speech that Kamala would make a great president. My guess is it is already planned for him to drop out, he just doesn't want to look like he is stealing thunder after the assassination attempt.

Him dropping out would reset things. Trump is peaking too early.

If he times it right, Kamala could potentially be President for 9 years and 364 days. The Constitution says if the VP takes over for the Pres and serves for less than two years of the term, they can still get re-elected twice. So Jan 2027 to Jan 2037 could be all President Kamala Harris

Narcissism is certainly a part of it, but it has way more to do with staying out of prison than anything else.
