So counterproductive… I am personally a shy, humble guy and don’t care about much. I also have a genuinely positive outlook on life in general that follows that “the arc of history bends toward justice” outlook. How we get there is what I’m wondering about. I’ve been called closed minded among other things for asking questions (hmmmm). How are you going to persuade the sizeable numbers of people who simply don’t or won’t get it without foreclosing any chance at a discussion by immediately insulting them?

I’ve engaged Ms H on this before. There was that long thread with tree_ and I asked many questions, and listened. I always do. I don’t have a solid opinion here except that I want it to work out. I’ve been respectful but been called closed minded and it was implied I’m a transphobe. I am simply suggesting that stuff like that preaches to a choir and helps nothing. I understand fully that the Lia Thomas type incidents are rare. Most people don’t know a trans person. But it’s America 2022 and this is an issue to enough people, like it or not.

I'm sorry but you quite simply do not have to take anyone's opinion on collegiate sports seriously.
