i think the main issue with every SW character that comes after the movies is the now classic ¨why these guys didnt helped luke...¨ I mean, its just impossible to do it.
Lets see what happens with this and maybe we´ll get an explanation.

All this speculation of a multiverse is a little far fetched if you ask me. Filoni wants to tie this story in with Mando, Boba, Rogue Squadron, and close it all out with a movie to end the Thrawn storyline. He's smart enough to know that going the multiverse route would convolute it too much. We'll see where this Anakin thing goes, but I'm pretty confident in my theory that this is just all in her head. The world between worlds is just the place in her mind she knows she could see Anakin again.

At this point, as a fan, I do expect a legit gamer changer given episode five will be in theaters.
Of course, I understand this could all be marketing, too.
In the best of both worlds, and at the end of the day, it would be nice to have the storytelling and marketing equally satisfying.

I would say having Anakin and the unveiling of live action Thrawn would be a big enough deal to be showing it in theaters. Thrawn is someone people pushed for to be canon for a long time when he first appeared, and it finally happened.
