It's just pure pop. It's catchy and sentimental. I wouldn't want every Mynabirds song to sound like this but I'm glad there's one that does.

Yeah, I mean, every record was so different from its predecessor that I kinda wanted the same for this one.
I think I was slightly put off at the beginning of this song by how poppy it sounded, but it's good and I'm super excited for the album.

The Billboard piece in full: http://www.billboard.com/articles/colum ... -interview
From processing headlines and filtering feelings then came The Mynabirds’ upcoming album Be Here Now, which will be released over the course of the summer on three EPs each featuring three songs, and out in full on August 25 via Saddle Creek.
Is there anything else that you would like to share about Be Here Now?

I’m really excited to be putting this record out in this way... I think everybody is trying to figure out what to do with the future of music -- how are people consuming music? What makes sense? What do people like? -- so I thought it made sense to put out three songs each month. It feels like instead of giving everybody a big meal, you’re giving them a tapas plate. I think people will really experience each song off of the album, which sometimes that doesn't happen, so I’m hoping some of the songs that might have gotten buried on a traditional album, maybe people will actually hear them.
Also, not sure if this is the official album cover or not but it's dropped in the middle of the article:
Spoiler: show

So, if I'm reading that right, we should be getting the first EP tomorrow? Which means two more new songs! :heartbeat:

Totally. I was texting with Pete and we both sort of had similar thoughts. This one sounds like an extension of the previous record, which is cool. But I also wonder what that means for the new album as a whole. Will this new record be the first Mynabirds record that sounds familiar? Or is it just a one song bridge? I can't wait to find out. And I like that we're going to get a few songs each month leading up to the release.

Looks like we'll have a lot to digest and discuss in this thread.

Man I hope so.

If the album drops in 2 months does it mean it only has 9 songs?

I'm not sure. My hope is that there are still 2 or 3 to discover once we have the album? Maybe 12 songs total. 3 on each EP and the 3 "new" songs once the album proper drops?
