A friend of mine was raving about lox the other day. Isn't is just salmon? Why does it need a special name?Alex wrote:i am the one who loxtommymtcom wrote:BreakingfastAlex wrote:what's the british word for breakfast?tommymtcom wrote:You should really eat breakfast, Alex.Alex wrote:i didn't have breakfast, which is why i'm eating my lunch nowtommymtcom wrote:What did you really have for breakfast?Alex wrote:i'm not really eating a 13 grain bagel

Re: What are you eating right now?
i don't deal directly with things like that, but in my experience it's usually the manager and not hr trying to pull something like that (not trying to say that the hr departments I've worked with are above it - I just haven't seen it)Chris_H_2 wrote:Hey Lenny, have you ever received a directive from a manager to put someone on an action/performance plan with objectives that can't be met simply so you can fire said employee? Re: What are you eating right now?
I was under the impression the whole reason to put an employee on a performance improvement plan is to ultimately be able to fire them... that's how every company I've worked at up to now has done it. they never speak in those terms but that's the understanding. IMO its just a way for the company to cover its ass legally so if the employee tries to sue, the company can show "proof"of the employee's work not being up to standard.

when i read his post my mind immediately went to a performance appraisal plan instead of performance improvement plan (probably because i had just got out of a meeting concerning my yearly goals/objectives leading to the year end performance appraisal)

Yeah just wasn't in the mood to eat the past couple of days, but now that it is done I'm starving. I might go to the local Lebanese place nearby for lunch today.tommymtcom wrote:Have some pierogies, Ruddo. They never fail to cheer me up.E.H. Ruddock wrote:I haven't eaten in two days.
