I've watched this video like ten times now and it wasn't until the third or fourth time I realized that there were two outs on the play. Incredible.Simple Torture wrote: Holy shit.

Re: MLB
if the first baseman got back to the bag for a force out before the runner scored they would have been good, no? i get he put himself in that situation from the beginning by going for the tag instead of back to the base

Re: MLB
I’d love to see a video from the third base side to see where exactly the runner was during all that…at worst seems like he could have got that guy in a rundown

it wouldn’t have mattered if the runner crossed home plate first. The idiot first baseman just needed to step on the bag for the third out.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:if the first baseman got back to the bag for a force out before the runner scored they would have been good, no? i get he put himself in that situation from the beginning by going for the tag instead of back to the base

Re: MLB
Not necessarily, right? If they throw to first for the force out after the runner crosses, the run wouldn't count. If they tag him after the runner crosses, then yes it counts.Chris_H_2 wrote:it wouldn’t have mattered if the runner crossed home plate first. Re: MLB
That’s correct. That’s why all he had to do is step on the bag. But a Pirate’s gonna Pirate.Simple Torture wrote:Not necessarily, right? Re: MLB
right…but by the time he didn’t tag the base as he should have and retreated more toward home I just wonder where the runner going from third to home was….and if he thought he had a better chance to get Baez out by tagging as opposed to going all the way back to first for the force out before the run scoredChris_H_2 wrote:it wouldn’t have mattered if the runner crossed home plate first. obviously he shouldn’t have put himself in that place to begin with

Re: MLB
the shit throw by the 3B started it all. it put the 1B in a quick decision spot, then he brain farted or more likely got lost in the mysterious eyes of EL MAGO.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:right…but by the time he didn’t tag the base as he should have and retreated more toward home I just wonder where the runner going from third to home was….and if he thought he had a better chance to get Baez out by tagging as opposed to going all the way back to first for the force out before the run scoredChris_H_2 wrote:it wouldn’t have mattered if the runner crossed home plate first. My new favorite is how Baez takes a second to make the "safe" gesture before running to first.Norris wrote:Every time I watch this I find something more bizarre about it.Simple Torture wrote: Holy shit.
