i still remember the day i bought the cd of SI, i quit my job and afterwards went to my favorite record store and got it. I was amazed with it.

I have it also on vinyl and another cd signed by Mike.

That's insane. I love Sol. "Matador" and "From the Dead" are mammoth tracks. What a way to close out an album!

I am willing to admit I was wrong about Magdalena Bay. They do indeed slap and bang. The hype surrounding Imaginal Disk was kinda absurd and off-putting to me from the jump, but I'll be damned if these tunes don't weasel their way into your shit.

I recently wondered about the specs and capabilities of that scrappy 90's Sony WM-EX152 Walkman, and whatever TDK90 mixtape I was rocking back then.
At that time, not a clue or concern about compression, stereo image, sound stage, EQ, etc, etc.

It made me long for that kind of listening experience. So now I have added a [very cheap] double tape deck to my setup and been on a bit cassette kick.
As far as inventory goes, I can't go nuts like I do on vinyl. I've limited myself to just a few compilations and desert island stuff. Sounds pretty great.

How come we don't have a cassette thread?

How did a pair of chodes like Justin Timberlake and Timbaland create something as beautiful as "I Think She Knows (Interlude)"? It makes no damn sense.

Been enjoying a lot The Commodores. Those dude were tight and funky as hell.

David Byrne has so many incredible albums that no one ever talks about. You'd think his solo stuff stunk by how overshadowed it is by Talking Heads' discog. But it fucking rules. Like extremely hard.
