I mean I know kids are overwhelmingly safe from this thing, but jeez man little harsh. Kids are people, too.

He's being sarcastic. But in all seriousness, worrying about kids getting covid is dumb shit.

Can you please explain this comment? I want to understand but can't based on the little you've said.
Covid is more contagious and spreads quicker. Severe illness is more likely and the mortality rate is higher. Also our immune systems are more naive towards covid, so we’re still being surprised by it (variants). Meaning…

… so yeah, you’re vaccinated and in a much safer place with it. But it’s starting to become apparent, unfortunately, that vaccinated can catch and spread the virus, and there’s a huge amount of the population still unable to be vaccinated, so the game’s changed. Getting vaccinated isn’t enough anymore - especially if you’re interested in normality again.

If this were a thing, wouldn't outcomes be far worse in countries that have both:

-Multi-generational households
-Kids doing in-person instruction all last year

I worry that the powers that be knew this January 2020, and furthermore didn't see a path to increasing our ability to make useful masks domestically in volumes that would matter.

Somehow incompetence is more forgiveable than accepting that we will not make X domestically ever again, regardless of extenuating circumstances.

If they knew masks didn't work then they also knew n95s were impractical for the general population though. I do get what you are saying about relying on other people to make our stuff though.

I think durden has done his part to sour us all on getting into the food delivery biz. Unless you’re the type of person who is looking for a fight.

saying masks dont work is misleading

from the get go i never heard that it would stop 100% the particles. what i did hear is it helped limit your exposure. so beating this drum that masks dont work depends on what you want them to do. if everyone would have worn them from the get go people still would have been infected and more than likely some may have passed away but nowhere near the numbers we have seen in the US.
