… so yeah, you’re vaccinated and in a much safer place with it. But it’s starting to become apparent, unfortunately, that vaccinated can catch and spread the virus, and there’s a huge amount of the population still unable to be vaccinated, so the game’s changed. Getting vaccinated isn’t enough anymore - especially if you’re interested in normality again.

I worry that the powers that be knew this January 2020, and furthermore didn't see a path to increasing our ability to make useful masks domestically in volumes that would matter.verb_to_trust wrote:https://www.cochrane.org/news/featured-review-physical-interventions-interrupt-or-reduce-spread-respiratory-viruses

If they knew masks didn't work then they also knew n95s were impractical for the general population though. I do get what you are saying about relying on other people to make our stuff though.simple schoolboy wrote:I worry that the powers that be knew this January 2020, and furthermore didn't see a path to increasing our ability to make useful masks domestically in volumes that would matter.verb_to_trust wrote:https://www.cochrane.org/news/featured-review-physical-interventions-interrupt-or-reduce-spread-respiratory-viruses

Somehow incompetence is more forgiveable than accepting that we will not make X domestically ever again, regardless of extenuating circumstances.
