Does anyone remember alt.music.pj (or whatever it was labeled) on the newsgroups?Peeps wrote:i may be mistaken but i think redmosquito was originally a .de site signifying it was in germanystip wrote:i have memories of interacting with TSIS in 98. Also, rip, Sunny, who was a long-timer from Boston who left too
i know at minimum i was posting here 20 years ago cause i was still in college getting my bachelors
i remember the general chat forum was a place i didnt venture and just posted in the pj forum. one few too may times veering off topic scott suggested i take a look at the general chat
the mods i can recall from back then were LT (candle avatar), hinny, bigmamma, scott. once the boards were intergrated then each sub forum had a different mods who patrolled those forums specifically, with athletic supporter, jim, and a few others that are escaping me (although thinking on that i think AS and jim were then modded after the board was recovered (see next paragraph)
then there was a board blowup and there was a separate board started and then that blew up (it may have been part of my war with ced and cement something or other) but then we all made amends and the new board was re-established. probably 2 years after that was the great invasion of balki, clark, pjdoll, shitz and sara
I want to believe. But than Stone is trolling with us BIG TIME in that Zane Lowe interview. Saying something about the band being a slow moving creature and releasing a record every year is not for them.durdencommatyler wrote:Oh I know what they were about. I remember alt.music.pj well. I used to download boots from there. Hi, I'm Brandes. I've lurked here as a guest for a few years and finally made an account the other day when the single came out. A loooooong time ago I was in the old Garden of Stone listserv mailing list. I used to sorta know Caleb (cant remember surname), Caryn Rose and Carl Sylvester from there (met them at shows, anyway). They helped create the old Five Horizons site, I think.blueviper wrote:Does anyone remember alt.music.pj (or whatever it was labeled) on the newsgroups?Peeps wrote:i may be mistaken but i think redmosquito was originally a .de site signifying it was in germanystip wrote:i have memories of interacting with TSIS in 98.
