This one panel from the latest issue of the force awakens comic adds a lot. Shows Reys Force vision and Yoda&Ben in shadow and Ben saying 'you will be tempted but you can learn. The force will be with you....the dark side .. the Jedi... you will do it alone.'

Wtf??? That throws a lot of theories up in the air.

This is primarily focused as much on the disney takeover, the attempts to rethink the prequels, and ring theory as it is about Force Awakens .

I think he completely misses what the Force Awakens did poorly, but his alternative story about an hour and ten minutes in is ten times more interesting than the one we got.

It's not his best work. It's hard to do this kind of review when you like the movie

Yeah, not his best. But we all slip up sometime when trying to be funny.

I had the idea the other day that since Weird Al started doing parody songs for kids, he should now be doing song parodies for middle aged geezers. Songs like "I still can't recall what I came in here looking for," Sleep Type Thing, and "we had joy we had fun we had seasons in oh what was that place what was it what was it you remember that place with the umbrellas what was it anyway it was fun."

And for a little while I thought that was funny.

your first mistake was thinking of the song without also thinking of the video

We all have ideas about how things could be better but hindsight n all that.

I ask think he liked it a lot more than he was letting on.

If you watch his review from the day the film was released, that's quite obvious. He says, "I loved it," with a bit of a smirk, which seems to suggest he was into it despite its flaws (like many of us). He's in character for this video, so obviously the snark level is quite a bit higher.
