Well that and the 'nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans' factor. Which sadly is a real thing.

I'll respectfully disagree that it's a problem at all. There are really no works of art that you enjoy which you also recognize have flaws--whether they're huge, gaping flaws or small, annoying ones? Looking at the totality of a piece and weighing the pros against the cons just sounds like criticism to me, which has been around for much longer than the internet.

except too often, and on a scale dwarfing anyrhing weve previously seen, criticism has become an end in itself, divorced from attempts to understand or appreciate the art under scruitny.

There was a time I probably would have gone to greater lengths to engage with you on this kind of post, and... not fight you on it... but try to debate it. But I've been listening to so many podcasts lately that flat out prove what you're talking about that I can't do it. I just have to agree with you.

I FINALLY found these on my podcatcher. Because no one could tell me how they were listed on said podcatcher. I guess this is why people care so much about branding. But anyway. I found it just now. And loaded it up. I'll start listening tonight. This is the Story and Star Wars series, I'm talking about.

I listened to the story wonk on force awakens first. His initial reaction. Then he has another later really getting into it. Is wonderful stuff
