This needs some ground rules:
- Define "masks"; not all are the same, not all are of equal effectiveness. That was the key point of the Waterloo study that was linked to in the now disputed "studyfinds", that your Harley Davidson neck gaiter, the cute paisley fair-trade fabric one from Etsy, and an N95 are so different in terms of protection and fit that the bucket term 'masks' is nearly meaningless.
- Define "effectiveness"; Effective at what? A 10% reduction in the volume of aresolized COVID is still technically 'effective', but how many would say that 10% makes a difference vs. the burden of mask mandates?
