I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The founder
I couldn't get past the story of it. It's a broadly true story.
Well worth your time.

I adore KKBB so much, i say yes.tragabigzanda wrote:The Nice Guys. Welp, this was a nice surprise -- I really enjoyed this, far more than KKBB and IM3. Not an amazing movie by any stretch, and I felt sort of hoodwinked by the daughter's role -- I had no idea she was part of the story. But this was a very fun way to kill a couple hours, now I'm wondering if I should give KKBB another shot.

La La Land.
Well, at first it was exactly what i thought....a referencial kind of movie, something we all saw before with better star and a better director. Then it changed, the ending is superb, the acting goes from pretty mediocre to ok to good and the director shows its cinematic chops.
Even if its overrated, man...that ending....It really, really got me.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I kind of want to see this just because it was partially filmed in my hometown. They built a temporary replica '50s style McDonalds in a parking lot behind the old court house two summers ago.spike wrote:The Founder.
Pretty good. Kinda bland, but I guess that fits.
There was a Daniel Craig/Channing Tatum movie being filmed at the county jail and a barbeque place this past fall.

I was really touched by the end for personal reasons. I get what they say in the movie, and i might be living it right now...So, yeah...powerful and cinematic as hell.

It's a good movie. Not as good as I wanted it to be, but good.
