I loved it when Bowie did this. Surprise albums are the best.
Eric Church drop a surprise album and just gave to fan club members on vinyl. He bought a record plant in Germany , and even kept it secret from his label. It also happens to be really solid album.
they should release album 10.5 as fan club only on vinyl and send it out for free to make amends for not sending 2017/2018 singles

that would also instantly grant it white whale status and people will then like it more than if it were the proper album release because they will listen to the tracks and be cloaked in the plume of ‘what could have been’

and then PJ can unleash their momentarily repressed formulaic side and be free to play the tracks live, to far greater fanfare than they ever would have before

its a win-win

The debut single Dance of the clairvoyants in my humble opinion SUCKS, I am very disappointed and I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan however not the type who is going to automatically like/love everything they do. I think this album is a pos they rushed just to meet contact obligation. I now understand stand why Brendan O'Brien departed.

After the theft, the band consulted longtime producer Brendan O'Brien. O'Brien told them to ask themselves if the missing tracks represented their best work. Vedder said that they "couldn't honestly look at ourselves and say, 'That was the best thing we've ever done.' So we decided to move on and do something completely new." They agreed to spend the next three months writing new material.

«Long ago, during a brief “ecstasy phase,” Eddie Vedder tried to write some techno music. “I was listening to all this stuff on ecstasy,” he told me in 2006, during an all-night chat in a Cleveland hotel room. “But I was wondering, ‘Are they writing it on ecstasy?’ I decided that the pure way to do it is to actually take ecstasy, and then write ecstasy music. That didn’t work out. But I enjoyed the ecstasy.”

It's a danceable style reminiscent of heads and gives a fresh stimulus like never before.
On the environmental themes of the album:
As one of the few rock bands to be able to persuasively refer to various social issues while maintaining stadium-class popularity, we cannot help but make a strong statement on climate change, which is being discussed around the world. Probably not.
Expectations are high!
Expectations are rising that a masterpiece of souls will emerge, incorporating both extremes of perspective and personal feelings.
Time is a flat circle.
At the end of 2017, go to a movie theater in Shinjuku to watch their movie 'Let's Play Two' and be the only one who can seize a huge audience with only the power of songs, performances and songs Was realized again.
this is hilarious

On the topic of Japan, is it true that the song Turning Japanese by The Vapors is about wanking? Always wondered if it was an urban myth.
