Nocturnal Animals.

Such a fun, well made, compelling movie. A great cast (Gyllenhaal was so fuckin good, he deserved a nomination), great cinematography, great pacing...I loved it.

I wanna see it again in a few months.

It took me a while to finalize how I felt about this movie. It's so strange and fascinating and difficult. Ultimately, I loved it. I also love that it was movie I had to think about for a long time.

Maybe 2016 was a shitty year for blockbusters or for DC fans. But man, I was pretty impressed with the vast majority of the films I saw last year.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The correlation between people I know who enjoy marijuana and those that enjoy Drive is uncanny.

I didn't say it was unanimous. Just an obvious correlation.

:-) For the record, I was sober when I watched it last night.
I certainly wasn't trying to imply anything with my post. It's really just something interesting that I've noticed. A lot of people I know who do not smoke (but perhaps do many other types of drugs, or not) seem like the movie less (in general) than the folks I know who smoke. Just interesting, I think.

I didnt find it difficult at all. Its strange because it seems everything violent is going to happen any time soon. I thought it was the best Bret Easton Ellis movie he never did.

I loved it.

Comparing it to anything Bret Easton Ellis makes me want to like it less.
