Im, sometimes, skipping DM and Running because i listened so much over these months, i wanna focus on the new songs.

But i agree, its a very good listen all way through

I’m fortunate in that I maybe listened to Dark Matter about 10 times or so, so the novelty is still relatively there.

However, I would say it probably holds the least interest for me on the album. Still a fun song but it’s dwarfed by the giants around it.

That's pretty normal. But yeah, great album cover to cover and I find the sequencing to be pretty much spot on for my liking. I may change a thing here or there down the road.

For instance, with Gig, I re tracked like this:

WES
SBWM
Dance
Alright
7
QE
Buckle
Never Dest
CTG
TTLW
Retro
River Cross

True the sequence of songs is really well done. Running has very good spot after all the emotional baggage of the previous songs. It makes the songs better. DM is a very welcome hard rocking song after the beauty of Wreckage.

They thought of it really well.

Stern was talking about PJ again this morning. He couldn't sleep last night because WFS was stuck in his head. He loves it. (The song's lyrics are also entirely appropriate for describing his mental state.)

Agreed The tracking on DM is great. I’m curious to see what it would be like switching up wreckage with won’t tell, having wreckage the 4th song, then DM number 5 before upper hand.

What does the % represent? Percent of songs that received at least 4 stars? If so, I’d love to know how Vitalogy gets a 100% when it has mediocre songs like Satans Bed and Whipping on it, plus thematic ‘songs’ like Bugs, Pry To, That’s Me.

percentage of folks giving the overall album 4 or 5 stars
RM 5 star % only is pretty interesting

1. Yield 82%
2. Vitalogy 80%
3. Ten 76%
4. Vs 72%
5. No Code 65%
6. Dark Matter 61%

Hoping this album settles really well, thinking it will, because it gets better each listen.

1st vinyl spin was sublime.

Fuck, I enjoy every song

Yield 96%
Binaural 86%
Riot Act 80%

This is actually pretty representative of how i feel about the catalogue. I'd have those top 5 in a different order but they are clearly the top 5. Dark Matter would be solidly in 6. Binaural and Gigaton battle out for 7-8, Riot Act and Avocado are close in the 9-10 and Backspacer and LB are clearly the bottom 2 records.

Now that Dark Matter is beginning to Gel with my entire listening album, i fucking love it. Super great to have a riff heavy song amongst the rest.

I had taken a day off when I listened to the LP. Totally worth it!
