These what? I just saw it as he was hitting himself for the adrenalin boost the pain would give him.red calzolaio wrote:I've read some ideas as to why Kylo hit his chest prior to the fight with Rey. I always thought that was so random of him to do.
do you guys buy into any of these?

I'd have to watch the movie again (which is on my to do list the next two weeks), but it's subtle stuff like the expression on his face, and how conflicted he is about Rey's relationship with Han, and his desire to mentor her (and in the process be a better mentor than Han was to him). He was clearly expecting to find some kind of peace after killing Han, and finds himself just as conflicted as ever.
It's says a lot about the kind of person you are that you thought that.
I'm pretty sure none of that good stuff is there. Or rather it's all there but with dark shit attached. None of it altruistic.

stip wrote:I agree he was planning on killing him. Its what he thought he HAD to do. But he was also conflicted as to whether or not he wanted to do it/it was the right thing to do, and I think he finds that killing him was not the cathartic release he thought it was going to be. In fact, it just made his internal struggle worse. This dynamic is precisely what makes Ren such a compelling character.
It sure is.Strat wrote:Star killer base is so dumb.
